The Parliamentary Seat of Amethi

The Amethi Parliamentary Constituency is a world fame seat mainly  due to being associated with first Prime Minister and architect of modern India Shri Jawahar Lal Nehru's family. Former Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi's sons late Shri Sanjai Gandhi and thereafter Shri Rajiv Gandhi, who became Prime Minister of India also, represented this constituency. Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, wife of late Shri Rajiv and currently President of Indian National Congress, represented this constituency in previous Lok Sabha. Now Amethi is represented in Parliament by Shri Rahul Gandhi, son of   Shri Rajiv Gandhi. Located at the south-west part of Sultanpur, it may boast of having a branch of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.
